What happens during a session?
During a counselling & psychotherapy session, a safe space is created to explore your thoughts and feelings. Bottled up feelings can become very intense; such as:-
- Anger
- Anxiety
- Grief
- Embarrassment
Feeling our emotions is the beginning of healing. When the anguish we feel is offered the open heart of another person, our feelings are met with acceptance and understanding. We can relax and make sense of our feelings. This is rarely possible with friends or family. Counsellors are trained to listen in a different way - they put themselves aside so they can understand and feel your experience. This kind of listening has been found to be the single most important therapeutic factor. We discover ourselves when we are allowed to be ourselves.

"I cannot believe how much your counselling has helped me believe in myself once again. The changes that have come about as a result of the counselling are amazing. I feel like a new woman."
We do not have to be in a crisis to need someone to talk to
I provide both face to face counselling (in Fareham, Hampshire) or telephone counselling.
I am a BACP registered counsellor & psychotherapist and am registered with the UKCP.
