Work related stress is a high profile topic, which can be seen by the increasing claims and number of articles published on this subject in the last few years. Clearly, what is important is that stress awareness is not just ‘flavour of the month’.
Stress is an important issue in society and in organisations and the costs of stress are becoming more widely recognised. While some stress is beneficial, there is a point beyond which it has an adverse effect on individuals and the organisation. The question many companies, small and large, are asking, is “What can we do to deal with stress in the workplace?”
